Hi friends — it’s Macie again.

So let me get this straight… one minute we’re having backyard barbecues and long afternoon walks, and the next? Everyone’s getting up early, packing backpacks, and rushing out the door like I don’t even exist. Rude.

If your house feels a little quieter lately, just know your pets notice. We miss the noise, the attention, and those mid-morning snack sneaks when the kids “accidentally” drop something. That’s why I’m here to help you — and your pups — transition back to real life without too many chewed-up shoes.

🐾 Macie’s Back-to-Routine Survival Tips

1. Ease into the Schedule

Try to start morning routines before the school bell rings. Waking up to a suddenly empty house is confusing, even for smart pups like me.

2. Leave a Comfort Cue

A shirt that smells like you, a calming playlist, or a toy with a treat inside can help us feel less alone when the house goes quiet.

3. Keep the Walks Going

Even if it’s shorter or later in the day, we still need exercise and sniff time to stay happy and healthy. It’s our version of recess.

4. Don’t Forget the After-School Cuddles

Those 15 minutes after you walk back in the door? They mean everything to us. Belly rubs = bonding time.

5. Update Your Home If It’s No Longer Working

Growing kids, changing schedules, and aging pets all need different spaces. If your home isn’t fitting the season you’re in, it might be time to explore something new.
